Question 1: What made you get into the home painting industry? What do you love best about working as a painter?

My wife had me paint a house once that she needed to put in the market. After that, I figured I was pretty good and decided to make it a full time job. I’m not sure it’s the painting specifically, I like working with people and helping them improve their property, and making it something they love.

Question 2: What do you think makes you stand out from other painters?

I think we are prompt, we communicate effectively, and we follow up to make sure customers are thoroughly satisfied.

Question 3: What does a day in the life of a painter look like?

One day could be starting a crew at a new job, another day could be running estimates, another day could be following up with completed jobs and checking on progress with all the crews. It’s never the same.

Question 4: What advice would you give to someone looking to become a painter?

Always set expectations. Whether it’s the people who work for you, the business partners you work with, or the clients you work for.

Question 5: How do you define “success”?

Completing a job on time. Keeping the schedule full and my employees busy. Past customers referring me new customers.

Question 6: When it comes to marketing your own business, what would you say are the hardest parts?

Remembering to take before photos. 😂 seriously though, finding the right person who understands how you want to be represented to the public. And making sure that fits into your budget.
