5 Squarespace hacks that most people don't know about

Have you ever designed a Squarespace site, but wondered how you can optimize it more to create a better client experience?

1 | You can create a Client Portal (Using Cover Pages)

Squarespace makes it quite easy for you to create a Client Portal for your business and in my opinion would be a great way to stand out from your competition.

Beware, this can get slightly complicated, especially when you’re trying to make this a smooth client walkthrough, so make sure to ensure that you have a good link-through for your client portal pages.

2 | You can take the date out of your Blog

It’s a smart idea to ensure that your keywords are as relevant and recent as possible on your squarespace site. If you take the date off your blog post, google doesn’t recognize that it was posted during a certain timeframe, meaning that your SEO is boosted! To take the date out of your blog go to Settings -> Blogging -> Post URL format - make sure that only %t is included in that box!

3 | You can change the style to your social media Icons

When I first started with Squarespace, I thought I could only use one style of social media icons. One of the things I love about Squarespace is that you can add social media icons wherever you would like on your site.

4 | You can enable “Pin It” with one button

How amazing would it be if you could add a “Pin It” button on your website?! It’s actually never been easier! Add your Pinterest in the Connected Account part of settings, then go to Settings -> Marketing -> Pin-It Buttons. Once it’s on the site, you can adjust how it looks!

5 | You can change the color of one word in a block

Have you ever been frustrated that you couldn’t change the color of just one letter or word in a paragraph? You can add as much color variability as you’d like by using a Markdown box, instead of using a text box, and if you’re unaware of how to use Markdown boxes, follow this link to learn how to use a Markdown box. You can find a Markdown Cheatsheet here
